I recently moved back to the area and was looking for a local business to handle my dry cleaning. I try to support local businesses whenever I can. After using Betty Brite Cleaners for my dry cleaning, and being satisfied for the most part with everything, I was surprised to find my last name written in black ink on the bottom left hand side of a number of my dress shirts. Curious if this was a common practice, to write on people's clothes without getting permission or notifying customers of the practice, I inquired as to the reason this took place. I was very optimistic about the answer and thought it would simply be an apology or explanation and we could process my clothes as normal. Boy, was I wrong. A gentleman was called to the desk to field the question, and I can only assume he is one of the owners, and boy did he ever. I asked if this was a common practice and he assured me it was. Being a little concerned about this, I asked very politely why I wasn't notified that my clothes would be written on. He proceeded to sarcastically explain that it isn't that big of a deal given the number of shirts that they process on a daily basis at Betty Brite. For someone who spends a great deal of time selecting his clothing, paying good money for quality clothing, and taking care of his things, I didn't appreciate the sarcasm nor the general tone this employee was taking. I said that I do have a problem with people writing in my clothes, damaging my property, without my permission and if this is going to continue I would like to be notified. Again, in a very patriarchal manner, he sarcastically he said that this is the practice here and that he was sorry quote-unquote for "damaging my property". Tulare is a great place on a number of levels but when people act and treat others with disrespect in this manner I have to wonder why. I will never do business at Betty Brite Cleaners again. I don't plan on moving either so they have just lost what would have been a loyal customer.

Much better than the other cleaners in Tulare. They are willing to go above and beyond for special requests and accommodate a need for a quick turn around.
Great service. If i ever had a discrepancy it was fixed at no charge.
